Eliot

So here's a halfway decent attempt to draw my original character Eliot from a romance I wrote a bit on for my summer course in creative writing. I've learned a lot after the last attempt: [link] which was a total fail in representing her.

Her full name is Catherine Eliot Riley, but not many people know that. They just call her Eliot, or occasionally El if they're close enough to her to get away with it (basically only Fin). Those who try to call her Ellie do not last long amongst her acquaintance.

Eliot is tallish and slender, with barely any curves, a tom-boy-y style and fairly androgynous facial features (apart from her button nose and her freckles). She has wispy tawny-coloured hair to her chin and her eyes are small and deep-set and murkey "swamp green" as she calls it. She has a wideish mouth with thin lips and a bit of a dimple on her left cheek when she smiles. She has a pretty all-over coverage of freckles on her arms, chest, back, face and lower legs, but they are most concentrated on her shoulders and cheeks. She can get a kind of fae look about her, and generally looks younger than she is (in this picture she's about 23ish? But I reckon it looks like a kid, possibly more to do with my drawing skills than the character though.)

She thinks she's an "adorable" (not in a good way) caricature of her Irish heritage (sorry Eliot, totally my fault), and James thinks she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.

This is not the best representation of her. The hair isn't right and if I had finer control over the freckles they'd be a little sparser, but for the most part it's her.

Now on to the daunting task of drawing James (I've never been able to draw guys, and James is a challenging guy to draw).
